Safely Landing to the Earth SpaceX Crew Dragon Capsule With NASA Astronauts Returns

Washington:

SpaceX's Dragon capsule carrying two astronauts of NASA is returning to Earth today. On Saturday, SpaceX left the International Space Station and began its journey toward Earth despite a storm warning in Florida. Footage from NASA shows how the capsule is slowly leaving the International Space Station. Nearly two months after the first American astronauts reached the orbiting lab in a decade, the American spacecraft is ending.

Regarding safety, the ship's crews were stationed in Quarantine,
due to friction in the atmosphere when the outer surface temperature of the capsule reached 1900 degrees Celsius. On returning to Earth, 4 to 5 times more gravitational force was felt on the capsule. After the capsule fell into the sea, the ship of SpaceX was deployed with 40 employees, including doctors, nurses etc. to take it out. In view of the safety of astronauts in the Corona epidemic, all 40 crew members aboard the vessel were kept in quarantine for 14 days before being sent on duty and they were screened Kovid-19.

The crew's retrieval from Crew Dragon was delayed slightly as the teams worked to flush its fuel tanks after sensing traces of nitrogen tetroxide fumes outside the capsule, a toxic gas from one the spacecraft's flammable fuels.

Hurley, giving a thumbs up as he was wheeled out of the spacecraft on a stretcher, a normal procedure as astronauts adjust to Earth's gravity, said, "I'm just proud to be a small part of this whole effort to get a company and people to and from the space station."

"Thanks for doing the most difficult parts and the most important parts of human spaceflight - getting us into orbit and bringing us home," Behnken told SpaceX mission control in Hawthorne, California, as the hatch door was opened.

For the return sequence, on-board thrusters and two sets of parachutes worked autonomously to slow the acorn-shaped capsule, bringing Behnken and Hurley's speed of 17,500 miles per hour in orbit down to 350 mph upon atmospheric re-entry, and eventually 15 mph at splash-down.

The departure of this first crew flight from US soil since the end of the space shuttle program in 2011 was actually scheduled on May 27, but it was delayed due to the weather not being favorable. After this, the launch time remained uncertain until launch on May 30 at 3:22 pm (1922 GMT).

With this launch, SpaceX became the first private company to have sent humans into orbit. Before this, only three governments - America, Russia and China have achieved this feat. Re-usable, the gumdrop (candy)-shaped vehicle is named Crew Dragon, which now took American astronauts to a 19-hour journey to the International Space Center.

US President Donald Trump also tweeted after the successful landing of the Space X capsule in the Gulf of Mexico. He wrote, 'The astronauts have completed the first splashdown in 45 years. It is very exciting. ' He has also posted a NASA video in his tweet.

SpaceX , which returned to water from space in July 1975, had previously stated that the vessel would arrive near the capsule in the ocean in half an hour and would take extra time to evacuate. Flight surgeons will first inspect the capsule. The capsule will then be opened and the astronauts will undergo a medical examination and then fly to their home in Houston. Significantly, before this, NASA astronauts returned to water from space on 24 July 1975.

It was earlier reported that the capsule named Dragon was named Dragon Endeavor by the crew which came from the Earth's orbit towards the Earth at a speed of 28 thousand kmph and entered the atmosphere at a speed of 560 kmph and finally Landed in the Gulf of Mexico at a speed of 24 kilometers per hour.
